Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM night shift schedule
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, which may include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Average daily census of 16 patients across 21 beds
• 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• No on-call required
• Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be the regular assigned shift length
• Charting system: EPIC (experience required)
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Care for post cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients
• Care for post heart and liver transplant patients
• ECMO support (VV and VA)
• Work within a 6-bed CVPACU recovering vascular and structural procedures (TAVR, Mitral clip, Watchman) Monday through Friday on day shift
• Recover TEE/cardioversion procedures
• Central line placements for temporary line needs
• Operate and manage specialized equipment including ECMO, Impella, IABP, LVAD initial insertion, and CRRT
• Required skills include: cardiovascular ICU, medical ICU, surgical ICU, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction management, CVP monitoring, epicardial pacing wire care, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, sheath removal, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, IV insulin protocols, liver failure, acute and chronic renal failure, hemodialysis management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central/PICC/IV line management, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, respiratory failure, suctioning, chest tube assist, high flow nasal cannula, and infection prevention
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Patients served: adults and geriatrics
