ICU RN Job in Alexandria, LA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in the Intensive Care Unit at CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. This is a 91-day contract beginning April 27, 2026.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• No call responsibilities; no floating required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients, 4:1 for IMCU patients
• Weekly pay: $2,444.04

Clinical Focus

You will provide care in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting, managing patients with acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-operative cardiovascular surgeries, and those requiring mechanical ventilation. Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is required.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• One year of critical care experience preferred; new graduates accepted
• Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred

Onboarding & Support

You will attend a New Nurses Orientation within your first 30 days. A designated trained staff member will precept you during initial onboarding. You will complete organizational entry competency validation and ICU department-specific competency validation, with annual competency verification requirements thereafter.

Core Responsibilities

You will apply the nursing process to provide direct patient care: assess clinical status, develop and implement care plans, administer medications while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects, and document patient history, symptoms, and interventions. You will also assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education.
