PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026.

Assignment Details

• 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• 36 hours of low census unbillable time available in hour increments, typically in 4-hour blocks

Clinical Responsibilities

• 8-bed observation unit with 1:4 patient ratio
• Care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre- and post-operative urology and GI cases
• Average patient stay up to 48 hours with high volume of admissions and discharges
• Manage drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Read and interpret EKG strips; EKG exam required during compliance

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• 1 prior travel assignment
• EPIC charting experience required
• Background in observation units or Med-Surg/Telemetry units preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate in nursing required

Compensation

• Weekly pay: $2,402.64
