PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts with weekends as scheduled
• 17-bed PACU unit operating Phase 1 recovery only
• No self-scheduling; designated day and night shifts available
• All full-time positions require 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Call schedule required with assigned weekend call approximately once every 3 months (Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Holiday call on an assigned rotation with no more than one major holiday per year
• On-call response time of 60 minutes required
• PACU experience preferred; ICU or ED experience also helpful
• ICU patients may recover in PACU when ICU beds are unavailable, including overnight holds
• Occasional ventilator, BiPAP, and CPAP patients; RT sets up initial equipment and rounds
• Perform EKGs and monitor patients on central monitoring systems; consult physician for official EKG reads
• No floating to other units required for PACU nurses
• Scrubs are provided through a facility vending system and returned at end of each shift
• Charting system: Epic
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS
• BSN not required
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
