Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
• Night shift position with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float pool position rotating across various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit, Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit, Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit, Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit, and ED Boarders
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Patient ratios: 1.5 during days and weekends, 2 during nights
• Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Must adhere to float policy and be willing to float within scope of practice
• 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CCRN
• Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Preferred skills: Continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Level 1 Trauma experience
• BSN preferred
• Virginia nursing license required; pending license accepted at time of submission but must be in-hand by the Wednesday before start date
• Up to 40 hours of RTO guaranteed per 13-week contract; no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Time off cannot be approved for the 4th of July or between 07/12 and 07/19
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
