Respiratory Therapist Job in Albany, NY

St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required. Three additional 12-hour holiday shifts per season are part of this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assess, treat, and care for patients of all ages with pulmonary disorders
• Analyze and perform diagnostic testing and relevant exams
• Set up and utilize cardiopulmonary equipment and machines to assist or monitor patient breathing
• Gather data to accurately assess patient's current health status
• Observe, record, and report symptoms, reactions, and patient progress
• Administer and record prescribed medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures
• Manage airways, including endotracheal intubations and extubations
• Provide pulmonary hygiene, tracheostomy care, and emergency life support procedures
• Provide health education to patients and community

Required qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory Care
• Active NBRC credential
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license
• 3+ years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in acute care hospital setting, including ED and adult critical care

Preferred qualifications:

• 1+ year experience in Level 3 NICU

This position offers 100% billable orientation. Weekly pay is $2,368.08. Assignment begins May 24, 2026.
