CVOR First Assist Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as a Certified Surgical First Assistant in the 29-bed Operating Room at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a backfill travel position running 56 days, starting August 24, 2026.

Your Role

You will assist surgeons across a wide range of surgical specialties, including orthopedic trauma, orthopedic, spine, neurosurgery, gynecology, general surgery, robotics, and vascular surgery. You will maintain 1:1 patient ratios and work with advanced surgical equipment, including 5 DaVinci Robots, Mako and Velys Robots. Your documentation will be performed in the Cerner system.

Schedule and Compensation

You will work 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, with a 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM shift. Weekly pay is $2,394.40. Flexible scheduling with call requirements is part of this position.

Throughout your assignment, you will handle diverse procedures across multiple specialties:

• Orthopedic trauma and orthopedic surgery
• Neurosurgery and spine
• Gynecology and urology
• General surgery and robotics
• Vascular, pediatric, and ENT procedures
• Plastics, podiatry, oral and maxillofacial surgery
• Dental and eye trauma

Requirements and Support

You must hold current CSTFA, CFA, or RNFA certification. The facility provides scrubs and offers unit secretaries and tech support to assist you in the OR. You will work alongside an experienced surgical team in a facility equipped with the latest surgical technology.
