About this role
ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in pediatric cardiology at MUSC Health - Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital in Charleston, SC. You will work 3x12 hour day shifts (6:30 AM to 7:00 PM), with staffing typically ending by 7:00 PM or when the last patient is discharged or admitted.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform 2–3 patient visits per day
- Provide pre- and post-anesthesia care for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional catheterization procedures
- Care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients
- Support sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups
- Work with specialized equipment including EKG, glucometer, and ISTAT machines
- Document in the Epic charting system
Requirements:
- Active South Carolina RN license prior to start date
- Minimum 2+ years RN experience, preferably in pediatric ICU, stepdown, or procedural care nursing
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Proficiency with Epic EHR
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
- Ability to work under limited supervision
Schedule & Work Environment:
- No weekend requirements or on-call duties
- Self-scheduling with team; minimum 2 Monday and 2 Friday shifts per month required
- No floating within or to sister facilities
- 60-mile radius rule applies
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
- 24-hour orientation period
