Respiratory Therapist Job in Pendleton, OR

CHI St Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join its clinical team. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,168.

Position Overview

You will work 3x12 rotating shifts covering 36 hours per week. This role involves variable scheduling to address shift holes, FMLA coverage, and PTO needs, with weekend requirements as needed. Holiday coverage is required. There is no on-call or standby call component to this position.

Clinical Responsibilities

You will provide respiratory care across the entire hospital, including the Family Birth Center, Emergency Room, Medical/Surgical, and CCU departments. You will treat patients of all ages—adults, pediatrics, and neonates. The facility delivers approximately 35 babies per month, and your duties will include:

• Ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP, and bubble CPAP management on newborns
• Breathing treatments, EKGs, and ABGs
• Assistance with intubation (independent intubation not required)
• Operation of Draeger ventilators, V60 BiPAP, ResMed CPAP, and Vapotherm high flow equipment
• Daily shift checks and procedure billing

The majority of shifts are worked independently as the sole RT in-house, requiring strong independent work skills and the ability to prioritize effectively. Significant walking is expected—approximately 6–8 miles per shift.

Requirements

Oregon RRT license is required. Certifications must include ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC. CRT is accepted if all other requirements are met. You must be proficient with bubble CPAP, ABG draws, and vent/BiPAP/CPAP management.

Onboarding

Department orientation consists of 3–6 shifts. The facility uses MEDITECH for charting and requires royal blue scrubs as part of the dress code.
