Surgical Technologist Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join its operating room team. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 2, 2026.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Work 5 eight-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, beginning at 7:00 AM with consistent weekly scheduling
• One weeknight call per week from end of shift until 7:00 AM the following morning
• Three weekend call days per month with 24-hour shifts
• Holiday call as needed with a 15-minute response time requirement

Role & Responsibilities

• Scrub for all surgical cases in a 11-OR suite environment handling approximately 18 cases daily
• Independently perform cranial procedures
• Support Level II trauma cases and neuro-trauma call
• Work with advanced surgical technology including DaVinci robotics, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis systems

Required Experience

• Orthopedic trauma experience and total joint experience required
• General OR experience with demonstrated competency in neuro-trauma care
• Ortho total and ortho trauma background essential

Clinical Focus

Common cases include orthopedics, urology, ENT, neuro-backs, and cranial procedures. You will use the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Requirements & Standards

• BLS certification required; CST preferred
• One week of unit-specific orientation provided
• Artificial nails prohibited—refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Demonstrate strong work ethic, positive attitude, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to speak up regarding patient safety concerns

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,102.40.
