About this role
Great Falls Clinic Medical Center is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN for a day shift position. You will care for hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients who do not require ICU-level transfer, working as a clinical leader and contributing to team-based patient outcomes.
Your responsibilities include:
- Provide direct patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning
- Manage care for post-op surgical patients, pre- and post-PCI patients, pacemaker placements, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, and sepsis cases
- Operate advanced medical equipment including multiple IV pumps, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation systems
- Care for patients on long-term stable ventilation support, CPAP, and BiPAP O2 therapy
- Manage IV medications including Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine (non-titrated), Lasix or Bumex, Amiodarone, and Dopamine (non-titrated)
- Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Act as a clinical leader and assist with staff precepting
- Provide direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping, and Dietary staff members
- Support the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit when staffing actions are needed
- Collaborate across professional disciplines to ensure effective care delivery
Required qualifications: Current Montana RN Licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
Preferred qualifications: EPNC and TNCC certifications. Post-heart catheterization and post-op vascular surgery experience preferred. Pediatric experience is a plus but not required.
This is a 91-day assignment beginning July 14, 2026, with day shift hours and a weekly pay rate of $2,195.
