Surgical Tech - Endoscopy

Job Details:

• Follow clearly defined endoscopy procedures to provide assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease
• Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers
• Support department functionality by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, decontamination, and setup as needed
• Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety
• Work with patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 4 patients per day shift
• Assist with biopsies, colonoscopies, EGD, endoscopic ultrasound scopes (EUS), ERCP, and flex sigmoidoscopies
• Perform high-level disinfection (HLD), infection control, instrument processing and cleaning, and specimen labeling
• Operate and maintain special equipment including endoscopes and colonoscopes
• Perform universal protocol (time out) procedures, procedure setup, and room restocking
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Required certifications: Endo Tech Certification and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Valid California state license required
