ED RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in the Emergency Department. You will work the night shift as part of a dynamic emergency care team serving a Level 3 Trauma facility.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 3 nights per week, 12.5-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Duration: 13 weeks, with a start date of July 6, 2026
• Pay: $2,019.60 per week
• Patient ratio: 4:1 in the Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department
• Scheduling: 6-week scheduling cycles; maximum 1 RTO per schedule with blackout dates during summer and winter as determined by department needs

Requirements and Credentials

• Current RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
• NRP certification preferred
• New Mexico state fingerprinting required
• Call requirement: minimum 2 hours prior to shift start
• Full uniform required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking skills
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions
• Maintain detailed documentation and comply with all safety standards
• Supervise and delegate care to assigned personnel as appropriate
• Float between departments as needed to support operational demands
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
• Work with the MedHost (EDIS) electronic medical record system
