Emergency Department RN Job in Utica, NY

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a 64-bed Emergency Department at MVHS Inc. in Utica, NY. This is a travel nursing position with a contract duration of 89 days, starting July 20, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Evening to overnight hours: 2:30 PM to 3:00 AM
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Unit Details

The ED includes 2 triage beds, 40 acute care beds, 6 super track beds, 2 trauma beds, 10 clinical decision unit beds, and 6 psychiatric beds. You will care for patients across all age groups—newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics—with common diagnoses including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.

Requirements and Experience

• 3+ years of emergency department experience required, including some pediatric experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Charge nurse capability highly preferred
• Floating to other units required
• Active New York nursing license with NURSYS verification

Clinical Skills and Equipment

You must be proficient with specialty equipment including Rapid Infuser and Arctic Sun. You will administer pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine), vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lido), sedation medications (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin.

Certifications and Technology

• AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required
• EMR experience with EPIC required

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,457.18. Scrub color is Navy Blue.
