CVOR First Assist Job in New Bern, NC

CarolinaEast Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) with CVOR certification for a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026. You will work Monday through Friday, 5x8 shifts, with variable start times between 5:30 AM and 3:15 PM depending on case type. Every third weekend and call responsibilities are required.

Role Overview

As a CVOR First Assist, you will provide surgical first assistance in the OR and specialized procedures unit, supporting cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and endovascular cases. You will work with adult patients and must be prepared to float within the hospital as needed. Heart cases begin earlier than standard OR cases, requiring flexibility with your schedule.

Required Qualifications

• CVOR CSFA certification (hard requirement)
• Minimum 2 years of surgical first assist experience
• Endovascular leg vein harvest experience (required)
• Prior travel healthcare experience (no first-time travelers)
• BLS certification
• Current knowledge of vascular, cardiac, thoracic, and endovascular procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC electronic health record experience
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and robotic-assisted surgery
• Special procedures unit background

Assignment Details

You will receive 16 hours of orientation to familiarize yourself with facility protocols and systems. Weekly pay is $3,513.60 for this 91-day contract position.
