Job Details:

• Operate CT scanning equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes
• Interpret physician scanning instructions and select correct computer and technical factors for each examination
• Administer contrast materials and assure accurate contrast injection procedures are followed for optimum contrast enhancement
• Properly position patients for each procedure to ensure optimum image quality
• Review physician orders for accuracy prior to start of examination to ensure the appropriate exam is completed
• Assess patients to ensure optimum exposure techniques, including taking appropriate precautions for women of childbearing age regarding potential pregnancy
• Ensure all CT images are of optimum diagnostic quality for accurate radiologist interpretation
• Operate diagnostic CT processing and printing equipment to create quality final images
• Accurately enter orders and charging procedures into the Meditech Computer System
• Coordinate daily work schedule and patient flow to ensure exams are completed in a timely manner
• Follow proper radiation safety procedures to minimize risk to both technologist and patient
• Maintain a safe environment for patients by ensuring fall prevention measures and assistive devices are readily available
• Minimum 1 year of CT experience required; previous CT scan procedure experience preferred
• Experience on Toshiba CT Scanners is a plus
• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required
• Massachusetts DPH Radiology License required
• ARRT (R) required; ARRT (CT) preferred and required within two years of hire
