Occupational Therapist Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment beginning May 25, 2026. You will work day shifts Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with one Saturday per month and holiday coverage required. This role offers a 1:1 patient ratio with no floating and no call responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for acute care patients
• Develop and implement age-appropriate treatment programs
• Attend care plan meetings and develop individualized treatment plans
• Participate in discharge planning to support patient transitions
• Facilitate development and rehabilitation of physically disabled patients
• Maximize functional status of hospitalized patients
• Evaluate, plan, implement, and modify treatment as needed
• Complete administrative duties and participate in performance improvement initiatives
• Use the MedHost EMR system for documentation

Requirements:

• Current occupational therapy licensure (New Mexico or equivalent state license)
• 1+ years of occupational therapy experience
• Acute care experience required
• BLS certification
• New Mexico fingerprint clearance

Compensation and Assignment Details:

• Weekly pay: $2,376
• 13-week duration
• Monday–Friday day shifts with one Saturday monthly
