Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday nights for night shift)
• Every other holiday required including Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 for telemetry patients
• Work on a 20-bed unit with all private rooms on the 2nd floor
• Provide care for telemetry patients, post-catheterization patients, medical/surgical patients with telemetry monitoring needs, and respiratory difficulty cases
• Required to have comfort with basic dysrhythmia interpretation and verify telemetry strip readings
• Place IVs and draw labs from central lines when ordered
• Administer nebulizer treatments and breathing treatments when respiratory therapy is unavailable
• Reconstitute antibiotics and manage titrating medications like heparin
• Potential for charge nurse responsibilities or precepting duties based on comfort level and unit needs
• May float to comparable or lower level units including medical/surgical or assist with emergency department patients
• Three-day orientation process with first day including education modules and shadowing, second day orientation, third day independent practice
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Minimum 1+ year of travel nursing experience required
• Charge and/or precepting experience required
• Must provide own navy blue scrubs
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required with address outside 50 miles from facility
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• No on-call requirements
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
