PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 12-hour variable shifts, both days and nights available (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hourly increments; unit typically reduces census in 4-hour increments
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on an 8-bed observation unit
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases, and patients on cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
• High volume of admissions and discharges with average patient stay up to 48 hours
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Background in observation units or MS/Tele units preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Traveler must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
