Respiratory Therapist Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health Charleston is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend and required holidays. On-call is not required.

Role and Responsibilities

You will provide respiratory care to adult critical care populations, including patients in the cardiovascular ICU and medical-surgical ICU. Your work will include care for postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and complex vascular surgery patients; heart and lung transplant recipients; and patients on LVAD, ECMO, IABP, and Impella support. You will also manage patients with ARDS, septic shock, hematologic and oncologic emergencies, GI hemorrhage, and pulmonary hypertension. Floating may occur to the Main Hospital adult population only, with the same policies, equipment, and charting requirements. No floating to sister facilities. You will use the Epic charting system and wear Caribbean Blue scrubs.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
• NBRC RRT certification (CRT candidates will be considered)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license in hand at time of start
• First-time travelers not accepted

Schedule and Compensation

This is a guaranteed-hours position; the facility is allowed to call off one shift per two weeks. Block scheduling is available with prior approval but is not guaranteed. Weekly pay is $1,866.24. Parking is required for night and weekend shifts only and costs $20 as a one-time payment.
