Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Fredericksburg, VA

You'll work nights as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Mary Washington Hospital, providing aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, lung inflation therapies, and airway management across multiple units. This is a float position requiring you to rotate between NICU, ER, and Adult ICU Stepdown based on facility needs—not a NICU-only role.

Your responsibilities include:

• Delivering various respiratory therapies and oxygen therapy
• Performing suctioning, pulmonary toileting, and arterial blood gas collection
• Operating BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizer equipment
• Medication administration within your scope
• Serving as Team Lead when assigned
• Attending monthly department meetings or reviewing minutes with acknowledgment
• Completing up to 8 hours of non-billable modules within one week of start

Schedule and expectations:

• 3x12 night shifts per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Potential mandatory on-call: 2 shifts per month

Required qualifications:

• BLS certification
• CRTT certification
• Virginia state respiratory therapy license
• ACLS (90-day window to obtain)
• 2+ years respiratory therapy experience
• Proficiency with airway management, medication administration, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and pulmonary toileting
• Epic charting system experience

Preferred qualifications:

• RRT certification
• NRP certification
• Prior NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience
• Travel therapy experience

First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Wine-colored scrubs are required. This 91-day contract begins May 19, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,177.28.
