ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel contract starting July 6, 2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week at $2,300.40 weekly pay.

Position Details

• 3x12-hour night shifts with variable scheduling
• Primary shift windows: 5:00 AM–5:00 PM, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, and 11:00 AM–11:00 PM
• Occasional flexibility to 2:00 PM–2:00 AM and 5:00 PM–5:00 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• On-call requirement: 12 hours per 6-week period with 30-minute response time and 2-hour minimum callback
• May float to Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley locations

Unit Overview

You will work in an 18-bed, fast-paced Trauma Level II Emergency Department that is stroke certified. The unit handles cardiac, neuro, pediatric, geriatric, and respiratory cases. Patient ratio is 3 to 4 per nurse. RNs draw labs, perform nebulizer treatments, and use Pyxis medication dispensers. X-ray staff and respiratory therapy are available on site in the ED.

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certification (ARC or AHA)
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of travel nursing experience (firm requirement)
• Trauma Level II experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate minimum; Bachelor's Degree preferred
