About this role
Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in Bethel, Alaska. You will work rotating shifts and earn $2,542 weekly with guaranteed 40 hours per week, starting August 18, 2026.
Your Role
You will provide comprehensive inpatient nursing care across the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Your patients will range from birth through elderly, including post-surgical and behavioral health cases. You will conduct initial assessments and 24-hour re-assessments, administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and educate patients and families on their care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate nursing care based on established practice standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver quality, cost-effective care
- Manage behavioral health patients using therapeutic communication techniques
- Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient interactions
- Utilize medical equipment and office technology as required
- Maintain flexibility with rotating schedules and work independently within prescribed scope
Requirements
- Alaska Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training certification
- Pediatrics and adult experience strongly preferred
- Ability to maintain clinical competencies for the position
