PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a night shift position, 3x12 hours, with a start date of February 23, 2026, for a 91-day assignment. You'll earn $2,102.40 per week.

Your Role

You'll care for patients in the PCU (unit 5W Medicine 610) using medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), and VC150s in every patient room. Night shift staffing includes a charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, and 1-2 sitters, with typical patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7. You'll prepare patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Operating Room procedures.

Work Environment

You'll use workstations on wheels and Tap and Go computer access for documentation in the Cerner EMR system. You may float to sister Medical-Surgical units (3W, 5W, K8) as needed. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), a white top with navy bottom, or all white.

Scheduling

Your shift runs 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. You must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. On the night shift, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all count as weekend shifts.

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• Medical Telemetry experience preferred
• Leadership experience preferred
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• CMSRN certification encouraged
