Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU @ Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport - Academic Medical Center

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - ICU Neuro</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM<br>• Maintain 1:2 patient ratio with daily census of 10 patients<br>• Work every other weekend<br>• Float to other ICUs when Neuro ICU is overstaffed or other units are critically understaffed<br>• Self-scheduling system<br>• 24-hour orientation required<br>• One pre-approved time off allowed per contract<br>• Must have 2 years of ICU experience required<br>• Epic charting system experience required<br>• First-time travelers accepted<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI<br>• Preferred certification: NIHSS<br>• Must wear royal blue scrubs<br>• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)<br>• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)<br>• Compact or Louisiana license in hand upon submittal required<br>• NURSYS reports must be current within 4 weeks of submission<br>• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers)<br>• Care for neurosurgery ICU patients including post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management<br>• Perform frequent neuro checks and assist with frequent CT and MRI trips<br>• Manage external ventricular drains (EVDs) and specialized neuro equipment<br>• May be assigned to emergency response teams during facility emergency events</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This academic medical center provides comprehensive neurological intensive care services with a 10-bed Neuro ICU unit.
