Respiratory Therapist Job in Austin, TX

St. David's Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract position. You will work the night shift, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, on a 3x12 schedule with approximately 4 rotating weekend shifts per month. There are no call requirements for this role.

What You'll Do

• Manage 35–40 patients per shift based on volume
• Perform standard respiratory therapy procedures including nebulizers, chest physiotherapy (CPT), arterial blood gas collection, ventilator management, inhaled nitric oxide administration, bronchoscopy assistance, and intubation support
• Transport patients on mechanical ventilation
• Operate GE ventilators, V60 BiPAPs, and Airvo HFNC equipment
• Document care in the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with the respiratory therapy department and hospital clinical teams

What We're Looking For

• Allied Health Professional credential as a Respiratory Therapist
• Adult respiratory experience in acute care settings required
• Adult critical care experience in ICU or ED preferred
• CRT certification accepted
• Ability to work effectively within a team of 1 supervisor and 7–9 night shift staff members
