CNA Job in Wrangell, AK

You'll work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Wrangell Medical Center in Wrangell, Alaska, caring for non-acute and acutely ill patients and residents. This is a 91-day travel position with a 3x12 night shift schedule, starting November 2, 2026. Your weekly pay is $1,170.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Provide basic nursing care while maintaining safe, clean patient environments
• Assist with activities of daily living: bed baths, oral hygiene, hair care, dressing, and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, blood sugar, and pulse oximetry
• Perform patient positioning, lifting, turning, and assist with bedpan and commode use
• Collect and transport specimens to appropriate departments
• Apply anti-embolism stockings and sequential compression devices (SCDs)
• Obtain 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs)
• Perform telemetry monitoring of patients within the inpatient unit
• Report changes in patient condition, behavior, or unusual incidents to the licensed nurse
• Maintain patient rooms and common areas; change bed linens and replenish supplies
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and emergency preparations
• Handle clean and dirty linen according to protocol; dispose of waste per organizational policies
• React calmly and make sound judgments during patient care and emergencies

Requirements:

• Current, full, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska
• Current BLS certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of prior CNA experience preferred
• Must submit 2 fingerprint cards upon acceptance
• Must complete courses specific to unit needs, including point-of-care and waived testing

You'll work under the supervision and delegation of licensed nursing staff and may be asked to cross-train in additional hospital areas including the Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, and Surgical Department.
