PCU Registered Nurse Job in Kansas City, MO

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at BJC West - Saint Lukes Hospital Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 25, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts.

Compensation & Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,212.53
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13-week contract period
• 8 weekend shifts required within each 6-week schedule period (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed

Clinical Role

You will manage patients in a progressive care setting with a standard 1:4 patient ratio, which may flex to 1:6 on rare occasions. You will care for patients requiring pulmonary stepdown, intermediate care, ventilated tracheostomy patients, COPD, and other high-acuity respiratory cases. Your responsibilities will include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory care, ventilator management, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, and medication administration. You will work with specialized equipment including endobronchial valves, ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with strong ventilator experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Valid Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
• 12 hours of orientation will be provided
