Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Weekend coverage required
• Patient ratios of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• May be floated to a sister facility as agency first pull
• 12-hour orientation period
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• 24-bed unit with a daily census of 24
• Manage patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, DM, PVD, COPD exacerbation, TIA, stroke, hypertension, Afib, Aflutter, bradycardia, tachycardia, wound infection, cellulitis, and GI bleed
• Perform and assist with pre and post angiogram/angioplasty (no sheath pulls), PPM/AICD, LINQ recorder, general surgical procedures, EGD, colonoscopy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, wound debridement, chest tube, central line catheter insertions, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
• Operate and manage telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, and wound vacs
• Required skills include blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management, CVA care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), peripheral and PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram care, and pre/post cardiac cath care
• Preferred charting system experience: Epic
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA)
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Telemetry experience and ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal
