ED RN Job in Waterloo, IA

MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department. This is a 90-day travel position starting June 28, 2026, offering 3x12 night shifts at $2,316.60 per week.

About the Role

You will provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced emergency setting, assessing and monitoring patients with diverse medical conditions and trauma cases. Your responsibilities include:

• Deliver direct patient care in the emergency room
• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with acute and time-sensitive conditions
• Collaborate with the emergency department medical team to ensure coordinated care
• Manage high-acuity situations and respond to changing patient needs
• Work on an every-third-weekend schedule
• Provide holiday coverage, including Labor Day
• Navigate varied start times throughout your shifts

What We're Looking For

You hold a current RN license and have experience working in an emergency department setting. You are comfortable with the physical and emotional demands of emergency nursing, including rapid assessment, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize multiple patients simultaneously.

Schedule and Location

This position runs for 90 days in Waterloo, Iowa. You will work nights on a 3x12 schedule, giving you four days off each week. Every third weekend will be a working weekend, and you'll be expected to participate in holiday coverage.
