Radiation Therapist Job in Paducah, KY

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Paducah, KY is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment. You will work 5 days per week on 8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional extensions to meet treatment schedule needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Administer ionizing radiation under the clinical direction of Radiation Oncologists
• Assess patient needs and determine necessity for physician consultations
• Document accurate treatment data in patient charts and verify mathematical accuracy
• Perform CT simulator utilization and demonstrate proficiency with equipment across all treatment areas
• Apply proper treatment techniques for cancer patients across all age ranges, from neonatal to geriatric populations
• Assist Radiation Oncologists in performing simulations and fabricating immobilization devices
• Stock treatment rooms with linen and supplies and maintain equipment knowledge
• Explain procedures and their rationale clearly to patients and families
• Serve as clinical instructor for radiation therapy students as needed
• Lead training for students, monitor and record progress, and communicate updates to the radiation therapy program director
• Meet with students monthly to discuss progress and provide counseling
• Communicate effectively with staff, peers, management, and physicians regarding department activities
• Ensure treatment area is secured at the end of each shift

You will bring knowledge of radiation therapy protocols and the ability to work collaboratively within an oncology care team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to patient care while supporting the professional development of radiation therapy students.

Position details: 13-week assignment starting September 25, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,650. This is a full-time position with an Allied Health Professional credential as a Radiation Therapist.
