Job Details:

• Work in a 16-suite operating room environment, with 12-14 suites running routinely
• Average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with turnaround expectation of less than 20 minutes
• Scrubs provided
• Required to both scrub and circulate (scrub experience highly preferred)
• On-call schedule includes one overnight per week and three weekends per 13-week contract
• Weekend call runs from end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday
• Required to float across all campuses
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Work with service lines including cardiac/peripheral vascular, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants, ENT, and plastics
• Operate specialized equipment including 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and Synthes or Stryker for orthopedic trauma
• 24 months of current operating room experience required (hospital/medical center experience prioritized)
• Circulating/operating room experience required
• Experience in general, Da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, and trauma cases required
• Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; Trauma Level II experience required
• No first-time travelers; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 9 months
• Iowa nursing license required (active or compact/multistate at time of submission)
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• Skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse (scrub/scrubbing) required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
