Opportunity:
RN - PICU
Job Details:
• 3x12 night shifts
• Minimum of every 3rd weekend required, with an occasional extra weekend shift to balance schedule as needed
• Must have flight and/or mobile transfer experience to be considered
• Transport team consists of one RN and one RT per shift, based out of the children's hospital
• Receive activations to transport neonates and pediatric patients from outside facilities requiring a higher level of care
• Transport patients via ground, fixed-wing, or rotor flight throughout Oregon and SW Washington
• Provide mobile ICU-level care, bringing NICU and PICU expertise to outlying facilities
• Transport directed by intensivists, neonatologists, and/or NNPs
• Also contracted to provide patient transport between Providence sites and may transport for OHSU's PANDA team when unavailable
• Flight training will be provided as part of orientation through a contracted vendor (LifeFlight)
• Patient age groups include neonates (22 weeks+), infants, pediatrics, and adolescents up to 18 years
• Patient diagnoses include prematurity/neonatal resuscitation, respiratory distress/failure, asthma, DKA, sepsis, cardiogenic shock, seizures, ingestion/overdose, and cardiac arrest/failure
• Skills required include intubation, resuscitation, IV placement, UAC/UVC placement, IO placement, chest needling, arterial line management, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and more
• Special equipment includes transport ventilators, isolettes/sleds, CMAC system, BBraun infusion pumps, EPOC, glucometer, and autoloader
• Interdisciplinary support from respiratory services and pharmacy
• Self-scheduling with a 1:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Scrubs provided for pediatric transport role
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Active Oregon RN license and Washington RN license required prior to starting
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
• Must not reside within 50 miles of any Legacy facility
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted; no RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• One professional reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager required with submission
