ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week available
• Patient ratios of 2:1 (can flex up to 3:1 during high census)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required within hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• No call requirement
• Minimum 2 years of neuro ICU experience required (no exceptions)
• Travel experience required - first-time travelers not accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Vents, IV Start, Neuro ICU care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, ventilated patient care, isolation precautions, lumbar drain experience
• Preferred skills: Arterial line management
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must be comfortable with stroke patients as primary patient population
• Dress code: Navy blue and white scrubs
• Equipment: EVD, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, Arctic Sun
• Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
• 24-hour orientation (2 days or 2 nights)
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
