Laboratory - Medical Technologist

Job Details:

• Evening shift, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with weekend and holiday rotation
• Work 2 full weekends in a row followed by 4 weekends off
• No on-call requirements
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline required
• Certification as a Medical Technician by ASCP BOC or equivalent, or relevant specialty lab certification required
• Chemistry experience required; Hematology and/or Chemistry experience highly preferred
• Prepare and process specimens for testing and perform routine and specialized laboratory tests
• Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot quality control errors
• Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and perform preventative maintenance
• Recognize and evaluate computer data problems
• Communicate technical information to medical staff and non-technical personnel
• Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures
• Participate in continuing education activities
• Recognize normal and abnormal values and model standards of behavior in daily interactions
