Operating Room RN Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health Charleston is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026.

Role Overview

You will work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, three days per week, with additional on-call responsibilities. You'll be trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures across all surgical specialties, including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics. Your patient ratio will be 1:1 during day shifts, nights, and weekends. Care delivery spans adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

Schedule Details

• 3x12 day shifts per week (6:30 AM–7:00 PM)
• Up to 1 weekend shift per month (Saturday or Sunday, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM)
• Up to 4 call shifts per month (end of shift to 7:00 AM)
• Up to 2 weekend call shifts per month (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM Saturday or Sunday)
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Requirements

• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license
• BLS certification
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Scrub experience strongly preferred
• 2 years of operating room experience strongly preferred (first-time travelers accepted)
• Radiation Badge (provided by agency)

Responsibilities & Environment

You'll float within scope to meet facility needs and may be assigned between like units or sister facilities. You'll use the EPIC charting system and have access to facility-provided scrubs. During hurricane season (June through November), you may be assigned to emergency response teams. This is a Level 1 trauma facility with a comprehensive surgical service line.

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,892.16
