Job Details:

• Function as an integral member of the surgical team to facilitate safe and effective intraoperative surgical procedures
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile and aseptic technique in accordance with AORN and AST standards
• Prepare for procedures considering factors related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control
• Collaborate and communicate with RN to perform intra-operative activities
• Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and all parts are accounted for
• Demonstrate proficiency in scrubbing techniques and maintaining sterile field
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge and sharp counts
• Knowledge of patient positioning and safe use of electrical and power equipment
• Assist anesthesia and OR team during patient code/critical situations
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality standards
• Attend mandatory in-services and participate in learning activities for new equipment and technologies
• Complete unit specific annual skills and mandatory hospital learning requirements
• Associate Degree preparation preferred
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
• BLS certification required
• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13 week contract
