Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job in Bakersfield, CA

You will work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Mercy Hospital Southwest in Bakersfield, California. This is an 8-hour day shift position running from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 91-day assignment beginning April 27, 2026. You will earn $2,803.20 weekly.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform 5–10 nuclear medicine scans and studies daily, including cardiac imaging, SPECT, bone scans, bleed studies, and gastric emptying procedures
• Operate GE equipment in a single scanner/room department
• Use Radnet and Merge Unity EMR/PACS systems for imaging management
• Document patient care and procedures in the Cerner charting system
• Work under the supervision of a Lead Technologist with a radiologist on-site
• Float to the downtown location approximately 6.5 miles away as needed

On-Call and Schedule:

• Rotating on-call responsibilities after 4:30 PM on weekdays
• Rotating weekend call requirements
• Rotating holiday on-call coverage
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Requirements and Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine experience
• Current BLS certification
• California NMTL (Nuclear Medicine Technologist License)
• Wear teal scrubs
• IV insertion is not required for this role
