Telemetry RN Job in Memphis, TN

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 45-bed Med Surg/Telemetry unit at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. This role combines medical-surgical nursing with telemetry monitoring, serving adult and geriatric patients with primary surgical oncology cases, medical oncology overflow, and general med-surg patients.

Schedule and Assignment Details

• 4x12 night shifts
• 91-day assignment starting May 18, 2026
• Patient ratio of 6:1 using team nursing approach
• Daily census of 30–35 patients within the 45-bed unit
• On-call and weekend coverage required; weekend blocks may be considered
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if they fall during your assignment

Clinical Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry; manage central lines (PAC, PICC lines, midlines)
• Perform wound care, manage drains, ostomies, and Foleys
• Operate PCA pumps and assist with chemotherapy administration (ONS nurses only)
• Limited phlebotomy coverage available at night
• Float between like units and campuses within 20 miles as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS and NIHSS certifications
• 2+ years of nursing experience (3+ preferred)
• Med Surg Oncology experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed previous travel assignment
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Preferred Skills

• IV start and conscious sedation capability
• Chemotherapy administration background
• Cerner electronic health record experience
