ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with available schedules of 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend-only shift option available if preferred
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Travelers are not required to float to other units
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Emergency department experience required
• Triage duties are not required for travelers
• Administer and manage all critical ED drips
• Perform blood draws and breathing treatments
• Work alongside ED physicians, mid-levels, charge nurses, technicians, and patient sitters
• Read and interpret telemetry strips (no monitor techs on unit; charge nurse monitors)
• Document and chart using MEDITECH EMR system
• Work in a 25-bed emergency department treating approximately 100 patients per day
• Treat all common emergency diagnoses including psychiatric patients in dedicated psych/seclusion rooms
• Stabilize and transfer trauma, cath lab, and stroke patients as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Hospital orientation (1 day) and 3 days of on-floor orientation with an RN required
