Opportunity:

RN - Orthopedics

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float required as needed to other units or campuses
• Charge RN shifts required as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Charge RN experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed; no study material provided)
• Care for orthopedic and medical surgical patients ranging from adulthood through geriatrics
• Patient population includes total joint replacements, fracture repairs, shoulder repairs, kyphoplasties, and neck or back surgeries
• Unit accommodates ED patients, sometimes with high acuity
• Telemetry monitoring available on unit
• 32-bed unit with an on-unit physical therapy gym
• Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients required
• Required skills include: telemetry/remote monitoring, total joint replacement care, orthopedic trauma, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), blood product administration, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, interpretation of dysrhythmias, heparin management, peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, and tracheostomy care
• Special equipment includes CPMs, Buck's Traction, and neck and back braces
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
