Emergency Room RN Job in Alexandria, VA

Join Alexandria Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department. This is an 89-day travel assignment starting July 6, 2026, offering competitive weekly pay of $2,119.22.

Role Overview:

You will provide direct patient care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting. Your responsibilities include administering medications such as vasopressors, insulin, and sedation drips, managing typical patient ratios of 4:1 with potential stretches to 5:1 during high census periods, and caring for patients across all acuity levels including STEMI, stroke, sprains, sutures, and pediatric emergencies.

Schedule & Requirements:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week with primary hours from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with flexibility to work 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts—you must be able to accommodate both time windows
• Every other weekend schedule required
• 6 shifts in 6 weeks
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday coverage required for July 4th (day and evening shifts)
• Float to Springfield Healthplex location as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of emergency department experience
• Experience with both adult and pediatric patients required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Epic system access required

Additional Information:

Dress code is navy blue scrubs. You will work in a fast-paced environment delivering care to diverse patient populations with varying acuity levels.
