OR Registered Nurse Job in Big Spring, TX

Shannon Medical Center - Big Spring is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You will work in a dynamic surgical environment supporting general surgery, emergency cesarean sections, and trauma procedures at a Level II facility.

• Schedule: 3x12 shifts (days) with rotating call responsibilities shared between two RNs. Weekend coverage required. Alternative 4x10 or 5x8 scheduling may be considered.
• Call rotation: One week includes Monday, Tuesday, Friday–Sunday; the following week covers Wednesday and Thursday. Call limited to general surgery and emergency c-sections.
• Clinical responsibilities: Circulating nurse role with 1:1 patient ratio during day shifts. Daily census of four patients across four operating rooms. You will work with adolescent, adult, and pediatric patients undergoing procedures including appendectomy, cesarean section, cholecystectomy, circumcision, colon resection, hernia repair, and laparoscopic procedures.
• Equipment and systems: Experience required with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Epic charting, and standard OR equipment.
• Orientation: 40 hours provided. You will report to the San Angelo location for your first day, then transition to the Big Spring facility.

Requirements: Current RN license, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. Minimum two years of OR circulating experience and prior travel nursing experience required. Trauma Level II experience preferred.

Compensation and duration: $2,436.48 weekly. 91-day contract beginning June 29, 2026.
