Emergency Department RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in the Emergency Department. You'll work the night shift and provide direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma facility.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 3x12-hour nights (12.5 hours, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Duration: 13 weeks, starting July 6, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,019.60
• Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency care using nursing process and critical thinking
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings to the care team
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects
• Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to safety standards
• Supervise and delegate care to assigned personnel
• Work with the MedHost (EDIS) electronic medical record system

Requirements

• Current RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
• NRP certification preferred
• New Mexico state fingerprinting required

Working Conditions

• Patient ratio: 4:1 in the Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department
• Floating between departments required
• Call requirement: minimum 2 hours prior to shift start
• 6-week scheduling cycles with maximum 1 RTO per schedule
• RTO blackout dates: 1 summer and 1 winter dependent on department needs
• Full uniform required
