Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day shift, 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Contract length of 13-26 weeks accepted
• Every other weekend required; must be able to work holidays including 2 of 3 major holidays
• Maximum of 7 pre-approved days of requested time off (no holidays); no RTO during first week of contract
• Floating to similar units required; floating at least once a week is typical
• Scheduling based on scheduling gaps
• 24-hour unit orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must pass EKG test for this specialty
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS
• Required skills: Med/Surg, Heparin protocols, IV Heparin drips, Insulin protocols, IV insulin drips, Titration of insulin drips, Blood product administration, Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Isolation precautions/PPE, Non-invasive airway management, PCA, Peripheral line care/management, Wound care/wound vac
• Documentation and systems: EPIC, Pyxis, SBAR
• Care for adult and geriatric medical/surgical and telemetry patients
• Administer and manage Heparin and insulin drips
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Contract staff will be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
