ICU Registered Nurse Job in Odessa, TX

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment on a 3x12 night shift schedule, with weekly pay of $2,099.52.

Position Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Current travel healthcare experience
• Patient care experience with 2–3 patient ratios
• Weekend coverage availability
• Cerner charting system proficiency
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and TCAR or TNCC
• Completed EKG course
• Minimum 6 hours of stroke education

Preferred Qualifications

• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level II facility experience

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

You will care for patients across all age groups—adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Your role includes management of arterial lines, BiPAP and CPAP support, blood product administration, and care of mechanically ventilated patients. You will perform central line care, administer continuous IV sedation and paralytics, manage CVA and acute stroke patients, and handle emergency medications.

Additional responsibilities include ICP monitoring, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocol administration, care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure, post-craniotomy and neurosurgery management, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, spinal cord injury care, endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury management, and ventilator management.

You may be required to float to Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units during low ICU census periods; patient ratios in these areas would be 5–6:1.
