PCU Registered Nurse Job in Leonardtown, Maryland

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Three shifts per week (3x12 schedule)
• Every other weekend coverage required based on operational needs
• Patient ratio of 1:4 in IMC unit
• Float required to Telemetry and Medical Surgical units as needed (ratios 1:5/1:6)
• No on-call requirements
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, and general surgery
• Perform procedures including chest tube management, PCA infusions, bedside monitoring, non-titratable drips, and IV infusions
• Work with specialized equipment including bedside monitoring for up to 8 patients, ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, and lift equipment
• Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
