About this role

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 119-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026. You will work 4x10 rotating shifts from 10:45 AM to 9:15 PM in a high-volume OR environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support operations across 19 OR suites performing 55–60 cases daily, approximately 1,000 cases per month
  • Work with general, orthopedic/neuro, robotic, and trauma cases
  • Scrubbing is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrate basic competency across almost every service line
  • Participate in two specialty call teams covering ortho/neuro and cardio/thoracic cases when competency allows

Call and Schedule Requirements:

  • Weekday and weekend call required with a 30-minute response time
  • On-call rotation averages every 7th weekend; no call during the week
  • Weekend coverage required approximately once per quarter
  • Holiday rotation with permanent staff required; flexibility is expected
  • Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of OR experience
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Must reside within 75 miles of the hospital (based on driver's license address)
  • Driver's license required with application
  • Skills checklist must accurately reflect experience; proficiency is required for items marked as competent

This is a full-service facility. No major pediatric cases, transplants, or C-sections occur in the main OR. You must be comfortable working in a high-acuity, high-volume setting and willing to adapt to facility protocols and scheduling demands.
