About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Gundersen St. Joseph's – Hillsboro, a Critical Access Hospital. This is a 20-week travel contract with a start date of June 29, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Weekly pay: $2,203.20
  • On-call: 3 shifts per month with 30-minute response time
  • Weekend and holiday rotation based on departmental need

Role Responsibilities

  • Float between the Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical units as staffing needs require
  • Function independently as the only RN on duty from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Provide direct care to medical, surgical, urgent care, and emergency patients
  • 8-hour unbillable orientation provided; no guaranteed orientation week

Required Credentials & Experience

  • Current Wisconsin RN license
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Minimum 2+ years Emergency Department RN experience
  • Electronic Medical Record experience; EPIC proficiency preferred
  • Critical Access Hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Associate degree or certificate in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Workplace Policies

  • Scrub color: any color except all black
  • Jewelry: single small nose stud permitted; flesh-colored or clear plugs allowed
  • Medical compliance must be initiated within 48 hours of offer acceptance
