ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Night shift position with every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6 in the emergency department
• Behavioral Health locked units maintain a 1:6 ratio, supported by ED staffing and security team
• 2 rapid evaluation units for urgent care and critical care needs with rapid medical screenings
• Primary Stroke Center (Gold Plus with AHA) designation with 4-hour annual stroke CEUs required
• STEMI cases requiring Cath intervention will be transferred to appropriate facility
• Serves patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Department sees approximately 120 visits per day across 54 beds
• Charting system: Cerner
• Community hospital experience required
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG, CEN
• Required skills include: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, triage, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license required
• Candidates may float within the hospital within scope
• References required
• Copy of certifications required
